CooperVision Recall – Avaira Sphere Recall – Contact Lens Problems

By late October 2011, the FDA had received 40 reports of CooperVision Avaira contact lens problems. CooperVision recalled some lots of Avaira Toric contact lenses in August. CooperVision also recalled some lots of Avaira Sphere contact lenses on 16 November 2011.

The reports received about the CooperVision Avaira Toric contact lens problems include reports of discomfort and pain, and even a torn cornea. There is a list of about 40 complaints by readers of eFoodAlerts, as well as in the comments below the list, that describe what these CooperVision contact lenses users are going through or have gone through. The words “severe eye pain” and “excruciating eye pain” are prominent.

Philips Lighting Recalls nearly 2 Million Compact Fluorescent Lamps

Compact Fluorescent lamp Bulbs marketed by Philips Lighting, and manufactured between March 2007 and May 2010 and sold at stores through and including July 2011 have been recalled.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced today, 11 August 2011, that Philips Lighting has voluntarily recalled these Philips Lighting CFL’s due to a previously unknown manufacturing problem.

Taking Butalbital and Caffeine Instead of Hydrocodone?

You could be taking butalbital and caffeine instead of the usual hydrocodone you usually find in your pain and headache medication. It has been discovered that one bottle of tablets was incorrectly labelled indicating that there was a mix up of labels and possibly a mix up of labels on other bottles of the tablets too.

The manufacturer, Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, issued a voluntary recall on the 24th of June 2011 of a certain lot of tablets that had been distributed to wholesale and retail pharmacies between mid November 2009 and early April 2010. The mix up of labels could be between Vicodin and Fioricet. Vicodin and Fioricet are generic tablets.
